2020 Cooking Class Schedule


Now in our 20th year, For the Love of Food Cooking School provides recreational chefs with engaging, interactive and fun hands-on cooking classes with a strong emphasis on Healthy Cooking and Food's power to protect, energize and heal our bodies. 


You'll learn how to prepare food deliciously and healthfully while drawing the most nutrition out of your foods, what herbs and spices are beneficial for your health, and how food can keep you in optimum health.


In addition to being a Certified Executive Chef, who has taught at the most prestigious professional Culinary Schools for 30+ years,  Chef Diane also holds a degree in Nutrition and is a Certified Nutrition Therapist.

At For the Love of Food our cooking philosophy is to teach you not just How to Think and Cook Like a Chef, but also the Science and the Why's behind each cooking method - making sure you're having fun at the same time!


For the Love of Food takes pride in using only organic produce, dairy & chicken; grass-fed butter, beef and lamb and pastured eggs.

All our classes are 100% hands-on and participatory, but if you’d prefer to sit back and watch, that’s okay with us! All classes include a packet of the evening’s recipes, plus a full meal with dessert and wine (except dessert classes). Feel free to bring your favorite apron or wear one of ours. All you need to bring is a smile, a great attitude, an appetite and a desire to make new friends and learn a new skill. We can’t wait to meet you!

PIZZA PARTY!!

Friday, April 3rd, 7:00PM   $79. per person

Who loves anything more than pizza? And if you could make amazing pizza at home, with a fabulous crust, a delicious (and quick!) sauce, your choice of crazy toppings

Well, we’re gonna make that pizza, have that party, and top it off with a salad for our veggie requirements and garlic knots and wine!


If you need a gluten-free crust, please let us know when you register.

QUICK MEALS WITH CHICKEN

Wednesday, April 22nd at 7:00PM

Think you can’t get a great meal on the table in under half an hour? Well, think again! This evening we’ll prepare 3 chicken entrees, with shared sides that you’ll have your family drooling over in about 25 minutes.

 $75 each or All 3 Quick Meals Classes - $195.

Think you can’t get a great meal on the table in under half an hour? Well, think again! This evening we’ll prepare 3 fish entrees, with shared sides in about 25 minutes, that will have your non-fish loving family asking for more!

Think you can’t get a great meal on the table in under half an hour? Well, think again! This evening we’ll prepare 3 beef entrees with shared sides in about 25 minutes that you’ll have your family drooling over!

ST. PATRICKS DAY – COOKING WITH BEER

Tuesday, March 17th at 7:00 PM    $109 per person

It comes but once a year, giving us a legitimate excuse to drink & cook with it (not that we need it!), but St. Patrick’s Day is a great time to pull out the stops and get creative with the hops & the barley! We’ll start with our traditional Soft Pretzels with Beer Mustard & Cheddar Ale Dip, then move on to a bit of an unusual surf & turf with our Horseradish Crusted Rib Eye with a Pale Ale Demi Glace & Pan Roasted Salmon with Hops Bearnaise over an Ale Cauliflower Puree. And, to gild the lily, or make sure this St. Patty’s Day is the best, we’ll finish with a Chocolate Rye Stout Cake topped with a Whiskey Marshmallow Meringue – and in case you can't resist, Chocolate Porter Ice Cream.  And of course, we'll have an assortment of Colorado's best microbrews (but sorry, none will be green).

BAKIN’ WITH BACON

Monday, June 15th at 7:00PM   $70 per person

It's true bacon makes everything better, and tonight we'll make our point with desserts. Upon your arrival we'll greet you with some savory-sweet, Bourbon Bacon Jam on warm biscuits, but go on to delight your palate with Apple Bacon Cinnamon Buns, Dark Chocolate Bacon Cupcakes and buttery, scrumptious, crumbly Pecan Sandies with Bacon.

Don't worry, the diet starts tomorrow!

WELCOME SPRING BRUNCH

Sunday, March 22nd at 11:30 AM  $99 per person

The first day of Spring in the Colorado foothills is an evanescent experience… it may be 65° and lovely or we may get 3 feet of new snow - who knows? So, with a bit of a nod to our uncertain weather, our menu will be a bit of winter with a touch of spring. Apple Cider Cocktails, Blueberry Pear Dutch Baby Pancakes with Maple Creme Fraiche, Corned Beef Hash with Poached Eggs, Seasonal Fruit Salad, locally roasted coffee and hopefully, sunshine.

MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH AL FRESCO

Sunday, May 10th at 11:30 AM             $99. per person

Celebrate Mom with fresh flowers and a brunch created with her in mind - sweet, spicy, colorful, and always unexpected.  We'll toast all mothers with a this year's special Mother's Day Cocktail and enjoy Curried Carrot Pancakes with Salted Yogurt, Grilled Salmon Nicoise Salad, Greek Yogurt & Honey Parfait with Homemade Granola, Cardamom Buns, locally roasted Coffee, or Tea al fresco on the patio.

Whether you choose to join your friends in our fabulous New Venue, enjoy a private one-on-one cooking class in your kitchen or ours, or host a Gourmet Get-Together  or Cooking Party in your own home, you will learn cooking techniques, fabulous new recipes, tricks and skills, plus gain a ton of new kitchen confidence from Denver's only 30-year experienced professional culinary instructor.


Chef Diane has taught both Cooking and Pastry Arts at the New York Restaurant School, The French Culinary Institute, Johnson & Wales, the Arts Institute of Colorado, the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts and Colorado Mountain College and has an advanced degree in Holistic Nutrition with a focus on Cancer prevention and treatment through nutrition. 

Please remember to always wear close-toed shoes to class!

Protecting your toes is our primary concern where we'll be working with 

sharp knives, hot water and heavy pots.

All Classes last 2.5 to 3 hours.  Wine & Beer Dinners last 3 to 4 hours. 
Classes include take-home recipes, a full meal together, cooking tips, plus an assortment of refreshments. 

Aprons and all cooking equipment is provided and available for purchase. 

Note that registration is a firm commitment to attend the class or series and no refunds will be made.  Any cancellations or class changes must be made at least 4 days prior to class.
 No exceptions may be made.
