I am a 2 year going on 3 camper of KIDS COOK! and just have to say that this camp has helped me progress in skills, expanded my food horizon, and improved my dish repertoire immensely. I wish I could go every weekend, but it makes the summer that much more special. The kids you meet are great, and it is the best experience bonding and especially cooking with everyone that comes to camp. I just wanted to email you to let you know that my son participated in a week long summer camp with you many years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it...Well, my son, now 18 years old, just graduated from Lincoln Culinary Institute in Columbia, MD!  He works at Clyde's Tower Oaks Lodge in Rockville, MD and has just gotten his first entrée on the menu there! This is my 4th year and every year  just gets better and better!  The kids you meet are great, the recipes and food are awesome and Chef Diane is amazing!   • Kids Cook! camps  are fully hands-on culinary experiences with maximum class size of 15 young chefs and a culinary leader to kid-chef ratio averaging 1:6.
  • Camps are taught by Kids Cook! culinary leaders – professionally trained chefs and classroom educators.
  • Camp is open to young chefs ages 8 through 15.  Because of our small class size, excellent ratio, and shared passion for cooking, we have found this diverse age range has worked very well.
  • Each session includes all the fresh ingredients, recipe book, and a Kids Cook! apron.  Kids are welcome to purchase a Kids Cook! chef's jacket and/or tool kit should they wish.
  • Campers make and eat their lunch during camp each day (except during the How to Think Like A Pastry Chef week). Please pack a water bottle and snack, if desired.
  • Campers must wear close-toed shoes and a shirt that will protect their arms at least to the elbow..
  • We are not a 100% nut-free kitchen.We'll always alert campers when we are using nuts.  We do not cook with peanuts. We are able to accommodate campers with certain allergies and dietary restrictions if we are given prior notice.
